Best Finance app since MS Money

I had used MS Money since 199X when it first came out. When MS killed the product, I was devastated. I first tried Quicken and I HATED it. I then tried iBank for Mac. It was ok at first but the more I worked with it, the more I realized I (emphasis on I) was doing the work. I came across Ms Finance over this past weekend and contacted the developer before I even considered purchasing. I wanted to know that they were committed to the product and envisioned it to be what I was needing. The first surprise was that my message was responded to within hours - like 2 hours or so I think. Secondly, the developer engaged with me and WANTED my feedback on features that exist, user interface, features Id like to see and a whole lot more. I had the feeling that I was NOT just going to be buying - and yes, I knew then that I would be buying it - a product that would not offer support, go in directions that I didnt want to go in and wouldnt really care about me. SilkyMac has consistently engaged me for feedback over two days and the developer has already reporting implementation of some of the suggestions I made. I feel like Ive gained a partner. As I told him, I was so to my wits end with the lack of availability of suitable alternatives to MS Money that I was ready to write my own. Yes, Im a programmer - which makes me the harshest critic. I frankly have not begun writing my own program because I am not sure that I can satisfy my own needs. And now Ive discovered I dont have to write it because MsFinance is what I would have written. It is SO nice to know that Ive found a neat program which has a small footprint, is easy to use, is a PLEASURE to use, contains many of the features that I was looking for, promises many of the few that it lacks right now and has development and support teams that not just respond quickly via e-mail only to dismiss you but actually put the discussions to design and update the product with those features. I give this program 5 stars because it is highly usable right now - and a pleasure to use as stated - but also because of the promise that it holds.

I have seen reviews on iBank from people who were also looking for a replacement for MS Money. (I bought my copy of iBank at the Apple Store so I cant write a review for it unfortunately.) I STRONGLY recommend that if you used MS Money OR if you just want to find a simple to use program that does an EXCELLENT job of helping you manage your finances, give MsFinance a try. If there is something you need that is missing, click the link and discuss it with the team. These people have put together a most excellent program here that I look forward to using. Programs like this remove the dread of sitting down to pay your bills or reconcile your bank or credit card statement. Just give it a shot. Take a minute to explore and get comfortable with it and use it. Heck, just download the trial if youre worried about spending the money. MsMoney was running $50 to $70 when it was discontinued and had three different versions. This program runs $20 right now and does everything that MS Money did with the exception of 401k and Investment management - something Ive also requested. Bottom line - EXCELLENT program that surpasses expectations without DEPLETING your finances. And to the team - hats off to you! Thanks for a job well done and for continuing to develop new and exciting features for this program. Ms Finance is obviously a labor of love for you.

I will update this review in the future as the program changes but I think Ill just be adding accolades based on current experience.
